Bumper sticker mania in Ruckmanland

Photos of the parking lot of Ruckman's church taken by the webmaster in 2007. I can understand having a bumper sticker or two in order to help spread the gospel or a moral message, but isn't this over the top? What do you think?

In these photos the bumper stickers are everywhere except–the bumper! (Actually they are probably magnetic stickers).

    Nothing wrong with it

Folks will actually sit and read a bunch of these. In a Walmart parking lot on a busy day, 1000’s of readings will take place. I say “Praise the Lord.” Job said, “I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.” Jesus said to not be ashamed of Him or His words. Amen to it.

I love seeing them. Praise God. Don’t take a stand; be found standing!

My car looks the same as these pictures of the above cars . See nothing wrong with it . Spreading the Gospel of Christ.

  4. Let’s concentrate on the real issues. Most of the bumper stickers in these pictures have a positive evangelical message. Granted, it’s not the sort of thing you’re likely to see in the Faculty parking lot at Cambridge. It’s better than that, in its own cultural setting.

    Yours in Christ,

Personally, as far as bumper stickers in general, I don’t like them, not even one. But since I’m saved and want others to get saved, I can admire a Christian attaching a gospel bumper sticker. It could do more good than a foolish or short sighted professing Christian would realize.
Imagine when you are judged for rewards and the Lord telling you that you were outdone by a Ford!!!

You can have bumper stickers all over your car to the point that you can’t see any of the paint, but it’s useless if you aren’t LIVING IT!!!

  7. Visitor says:

I've been a part of the movement, but have now separated from it, as many of them DON'T live it! I always had one or two; still do! I always thought that having them everywhere looked too fanatical, and served to turn more people off than on. I think there should always be a balance!

How about striking up a God-centered conversation with everyone you meet, instead, like Jesus did? People seem to be attracted to bumper stickers and labels, “I am…” so they don’t have to talk about what they claim to believe. In fact, I have noticed few people even know what they believe. Hence the anger they give when you ask questions.

Too much of the word of God?? Is there such a thing? Are you sure that your heart is right on this matter Webmaster?

  10. There does come a point where, like the Pharisee of Luke’s gospel, one becomes more interested in his vain works, yet however pious or plentious are they, than the piblican’s cry, “God be merciful to me a sinner!”

This is a relevant quote from Particular Baptist John Bunyan, http://www.azquotes.com/quote/703787.

Obviously such stickers are a bold statement that should be backed up by the life and testimony of the owner.. I think it's fine. Certainly draws a pretty clear line

  12. Audrey says:

Ibelieve it takes boldness to make that sort of decision to put a bunch of gospel stickers on your car. Iam getting close to doing that myself, maybe a fewer stickers in the right places on every side of my car to get a clear message by to someone who is searching but doesn't know how  to get saved or doesn't know Jesus at all. You might get used to your car looking that way,but like I said,it takes boldness to do that. People will think you're crazy probably most of the time, but you don't know the few you are helping!Keep your eyes on Christ and don't waver!Just especially don't have road rage with those stickers!and remember if you don't forgive one another, your Father which is in Heaven will not forgive you!
