Statement regarding Dr. Peter Ruckman’s death

The Bible Baptist Bookstore website announced that Peter S. Ruckman died April 21, 2016.

This website will continue and will be updated from time to time with new articles, as there is no doubt that the false teachings and influence of Ruckmanism will linger for many decades.

It can be expected that Ruckmanites will try to shame those of us who warn about Ruckman's false teachings by claiming that we are "not respecting the dead," that we are being unfair because Ruckman is "no longer around to defend himself," etc.

However, false teachings need to continue to be denounced. The Biblical admonition to “mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them” (Rom. 16:17) still applies. The bookstore he founded and his followers will continue to promote Ruckmanism far and wide, hence the need to continue to "earnestly contend for the faith" (Jude 1:3).

  1. Your web site does nothing but INCREASE sales at http://www.kjv1611.org. My favorite is, “Ruckman’s vicious ungodly language.” I would recommend using the books listed in the footnote as a guide for making some of the most useful purchases from the bookstore.

May the Lord continue to use your web site to direct people to good materials from Dr. Ruckman, to the praise of the glory of God’s dear Son, Jesus Christ.

    • Webmaster says:

If you are serious about this website doing nothing but increasing sales to Ruckman’s bookstore, I challenge you to place a link on your pro-Ruckman church website and leave it there. If you won’t, it’s all talk.

    • Sherrie says:

I hope you're right! I just ordered a KJB commentary from the Bible Baptist bookstore. He's a REAL hero!

      • Sean Reynolds says:

I am surprised they did not censor this and the above posts. They would not post my debate with them on Brother Ruckman. It seems they cherry pick what they allow. All I can say is that this website will answer for the bashing and needless slandering of Christians who believe God's word and the King James Bible. May God have mercy on their souls for they know not what they do!

  2. Anthony Lambertini says:

Yes he was incorrect about some doctrine (like all of us are at times). We all fall short, that is true. But he gave his life to and for Christ. That is very evident. He accomplished good things for Christ.

But my favorite subject that he was right on every time (from everything I watched and read) was the King James Bible. That is the perfect word of God for the English people.

You cannot dishonor the dead by ridicule, mockery, or slander. So people can mock us after we’re dead. So what? Their tongue will only get them in trouble with God, if they’re wrong.
Let us stand for the truth, love our neighbor and enemies, and prepare for the future coming of Jesus Christ after the tribulation.

    • Webmaster says:

I only edited the above comment to place a statement in bold. In less than 24 hours, my prediction that Ruckman defenders would try to shame those of us who are exposing error by claiming that we are “not respecting the dead” came true. On the very same page on which the prediction was made!

      • Jay Alexander says:

So Webmaster, if that is your name, are you claiming to be some kind of prophet with some uncanny ability to tell the future?

        • Webmaster says:

No, I do not follow the example of Ruckman who attempted to guess the rapture multiple times in spite of Scriptural warnings against the practice. Ruckman unfortunately earned his name in publications that make a mockery of Christianity based on failed rapture guesses. See Peter Ruckman’s failed attempts at guessing the approximate date of the rapture.

By the way, your email address is so vulgar that I came very close to not approving your comment. It is the kind of conduct that is not surprising of a Ruckmanite, as their leader did not practice the biblical admonition to “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” (Eph 4:29) May those who notice such contact be more aware than ever.

  3. patrick says:

Anthony Lambertini [test all things] where is, ‘do not dishonour the dead’, in the Bible? The actions of Judas Iscariot, Jezebel and many more who were enemies of the truth were spoken of [as a warning] after their death in the scriptures.

It’s the living that matters – warning others of false teachers, and their protege false teachers – who teach the same as he did. The books of Mr Ruckman, Kenneth Hagin Snr and other wolves will contine to be read, snaring the gullible and naive. Their death makes little difference.

  4. “Yes he was incorrect about some doctrine (like all of us are at times). We all fall short, that is true.”

This kind of talking, which I hear way too often, makes me sick to my stomach. It certainly doesn’t come form someone who has read and understood the Bible.

1Jn_4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Rom_16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

    Tit_3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

Gal_1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

2Jn_1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

    and on and on…

this man (Anthony) is excusing BLASPHEMY! No reverence for God or His word.

  5. James says:

Yes Dr. Ruckman was off on many Biblical doctrines. Yes his death was a sad day for the USA. BUT, exposing Dr. Ruckman’s inconsistencies and false teachings is not a case of “not respecting the dead” as some may claim. When my life is finished and people sort through anything that I have taught (though my influence has been minimal) I would HOPE and pray that the inconsistencies, if there were/are any, would indeed be exposed and CORRECTED by the inspired infallible inerrant words of the living God (AV1611KJB).

    God FIRST!

  6. 2tim:2-15 says it all.

  7. Randy Brooks says:

I remember hearing stories about Doc. I heard he once painted his Apocalypse mural on the wall of a motel room he was staying in. All the host church could do when called by the hotel was ask them to send a bill.

He didn’t suffer fools, another friend was asked by phone to delay his arrival till the church was ready, Doc quipped how many times are we going to pass Mt Rainier before we get there?

Another fun time was when he decided he was ready to go back to the room and his wife told him to have a seat. Jaws dropped when he took a seat!

I watched him field questions and give full Bible quotations on the fly with air nailer precision for nearly an hour in his eighties. He let the chips land where they would.

  8. Robert Donaldson says:

Ruckmansxstand for the AV was as he believed its source was truth.

isnt it amazing how many of you who stand by the books from the rubbish tin at st Catherine's seem to compare all these books against the AV but I have not heard you or seen you compare your books agsinst each others many versions.

  9. Webmaster says:

Some who comment might promote a modern translation, but not the authors of this website. Ruckman and his writings are under the magnifying glass on this website, not modern translations.

  10. Sandra says:

The main point here is the man led hundreds and hundreds of people to the LORD. How many have you led to the LORD? How many prisons have you gone into to take the gospel?  At the judgement seat of Christ will your ideas of Rickman's infallibility on some issues be your reward or will it be how many Souls YOU won for Christ?  I doubt any of you could even come any where near what he did for the LORD.

    • Webmaster says:

That God could use any of us in spite of our frailty, sinfulness and shortcomings is a testimony only to the grace of God. It is not for the praise of men. No one is saying that Ruckman did not have a part in seeing people saved. But some of his stories were highly questionable, such as when he claimed to have led someone to the Lord driving 60 mph at night while witnessing to someone in another car through a PA system! Now on the flip side of the coin, how many has Ruckman driven away from accepting Christ because of the lunacy of his statements, his racism in the name of Christ, his divisiveness in boasting that he could drown other Christian leaders in his own spit, calling God a terrorist, saying the Bible is “hate literature par excellent,” etc.? We will never know. Those things do not draw people to Christ, but rather can help make atheists out of them.

  11. Al Sagalla says:

I hope and pray that the good Lord will continue to use your website to help people be enlightened to the errors of the late Dr. Peter Ruckman. Yes, he is already dead, but, I fully agree, error should eternally be corrected.

  12. William Tyndale says:

Shame on this website for maliciously slandering such a great spirit filled man of God like Pastor Peter Ruckman, you still trying to slander this righteous man after his death, this is so shameful and wicked!

  13. brett E crabtree says:

Long after you and many others like you leave this world, “Ruckmanism” will still be going strong. God bless.

    • Webmaster says:

You are probably right, but that doesn’t prove it right. Personality cults are often slow to die. It can die as people quit looking to a man and begin “looking unto Jesus” (Heb. 12:2)

  14. Morris Sherlin says:

I am glad I am following JESUS and not ANY man! GOD is no respector of persons and neither should we be?

  15. Rebecca Strong says:

I have listened to hundreds of Peter Ruckman's sermons on tape and now through You Tube for many years. No preacher has ever inspired me to serve God, study my Bible, and tell others about a Jesus more than he has. He has taught me to study the Bible for myself and not to take anyone's word for what it says – including his. I believe he loved God and dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel. In many ways he came across arrogant (probably because of his talents and high intellectual ability) but in others he came across as one of the most humble preachers I have ever listened to (probably because he knew the Bible so well). I am thankful for his teaching, knowing that no man on this earth is going to be perfect in what they teach. I, too, am bothered by the apparent racist comments from time to time, but try to remember that the age in which he was born and where he was born had something to do with it. No one is perfect. Dr. Ruckman has definitely has a extremely positive influence in my life.

    • Webmaster says:

It is possible to learn from nearly anyone who teaches the Bible, but that doesn’t make it right to continue to submit to outright false teaching because one has been blessed somehow in some way by someone’s teaching. The Bible gives some guidelines as to what point one should turn away from someone’s leadership. There is a long list in 2 Tim. 3:2-5. Ruckman might not be guilty of every single sin in the list, but it should not be understood that someone would have to be guilty of all 20 sins in order to apply the admonition to “turn away.” It has been abundantly documented throughout this website that Ruckman is guilty of many matters discussed in this passage:

2Ti 3:2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
      2Ti 3:4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

  16. Lifetimeroad says:

Webmaster, it grieves me how so many are deceived by the false teachings of Dr. Ruckman. When will professing Christians ever judge a man strictly on his life and doctrine regardless of his personality or Charisma , or "quaint" idiosyncrasies? Who cares if he is dynamic, likeable, inspiring, or even if he has some good points? Examine a man's life and particular doctrines and how they line up with scripture! Why must we approve of all of a man's ministry  because he has encouraged or inspired us? Wrong doctrine is wrong doctrine. Fine, he encouraged someone on a couple of points- take those  and disapprove of the whole! God help us. Can we not distinguish a true servant of God?

  17. Bruce van emerick says:

I have listened to a few of ruckmans videos, I'm not sure which way to go on this yet, he does know a lot of the word, he is strong in his talk I agree, I'm saved I have been born again for many, many years, I was saved in the marines in 1982, I have been witnessing for 40 years now, mostly by tract and telling people who to get saved and what is awaiting them at the judgement and their need for the Lord and his wonderful gift. I'm not a scholar or a pastor, just a brother in the Lord, trying to learn more about him and reach as many as I can before I go home to be with him. Ruckman may not be for everyone, but if he's a bother in the Lord Jesus Christ I will not fault him. When I get to heaven I can talk to him and we can talk all the time. I do want to listen to more of what he says. I thank you all for the honest info. Makes us think and use our God given minds. The truth will hold up to any lie. I have found that out being in the northeast. Life is hard. But God is Good if you know him. I will come back from time to time to catch up on what you all are saying. I hope to have a better handle on dr Peter ruckman, I don't mean to offend anyone but all that matters to me is that people get saved. That's all that matters in life. Life is pointless with being saved. Webmaster thank you for this site. It has helped me. If it's ok I would like to give my email and cell phone number out here some time, I like to talk with other brothers and sisters in the Lord. Please keep seeking the truth and reaching the lost. So many are in hell. So many are dieing with our Lord. Thanks again, love bve

  18. Kenneth Delk says:

THIS WE KNOW THAT WEVE PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE THAT WE LOVE THE BRETHREN, AND  satan IS THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHEREN, DAY AND NIGHT YOU COULDNT HOLD A CANDLE NEXT TO.            DR. PETER STURGES RUCKMAN, BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT THE LORD( DOESNT) HOLD HIS SIN AGAISNT HIM, IT WAS HARD TO SAY THINGS LIKE THIS WHEN DR.PETER S RUCKMAN WAS ALIVE  ,CAUSE HE WOULD PROVE HIS CASE AND WAS NOT ASHAMED ,WHICH YOU SHOULD BE MY FRIEND.
